Lest there be any confusion about what the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is attempting to accomplish in their recent campaign in California and their announced attack on Ohio’s livestock farmers, HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle spelled out the mission today on his blog:

We believe in the Three Rs — reducing the consumption of meat and other animal-based foods; refining the diet by eating products only from methods of production, transport, and slaughter that minimize pain and distress; and replacing meat and other animal-based foods in the diet with plant-based foods.

Again, let there be no confusion on this issue. HSUS’ reason for existing has nothing to do with supporting your local animal shelter or county Humane Association. This organization exists for the sole mission of ending the consumption of animal-based protein in the United States, and everything else is subterfuge to raise funds to pay Wayne and company in the execution of Priority Numero Uno.
